EngineAI SE01 is a cutting-edge general-purpose humanoid robot launched in October 2024 by Chinese startup EngineAI. Standing 170 cm tall and weighing 55 kg, it features 32 degrees of freedom (DoF) with 12 DoF in the hands (6 per hand) and 8 DoF in the arms (4 per arm). The robot is powered by dual processors from NVIDIA and Intel, enabling high-performance AI computation and precise control. A key innovation is its bio-inspired natural walking gait, achieved through self-developed harmonic joint modules and advanced reinforcement and imitation learning. This design overcomes traditional mechanical deadlock issues by leveraging inertia and gravity for energy-efficient, stable, and human-like walking at speeds up to 2 meters per second. SE01 can perform complex motions such as squatting, push-ups, circular walking, and object grasping. It incorporates multi-sensor fusion with Intel RealSense D435 depth camera, 360-degree LiDAR, and six HD cameras for 3D perception, obstacle avoidance, and adaptive path planning. Its aerospace-grade aluminum alloy exoskeleton ensures durability for industrial and household applications, with a battery life of around 2 hours and an operational lifespan exceeding 10 years.
